Designer Thanh Nguyen Storfer enjoyed her early years in Saigon where her fondest memories were formed on her grandparents’ lush farm in the countryside. There her love of nature took root, surrounded by tropical plants, fruit trees and rice fields where she played with her sister, brother and cousins every summer. At the age of eight, Thanh and all three generations of her family relocated to Maryland to begin a new life in America. Such contrast, a new world to explore, new seasons to experience, Winters with snow, blossoming Springs offered a first great adventure in living differently.

Fast forward to today, where she now lives on Oahu, Hawaii and Palm Beach County, Florida with her husband Mark, Thanh finds joy in pursuing her love for fashion after completing a second degree in Fashion Technology at Honolulu Community College. These studies, plus the natural beauty of islands and Thanh’s love of nature, warm people, sandy beaches, lush green mountainsides and beautiful sunny days inspired her to start her own fashion line and business.

When she is not working on establishing her new business or freelancing, Thanh can be found cooking, sewing, painting, singing, learning Hebrew and Italian, reading, studying the Bible, and spending time with her husband. She volunteers in the community, teaches sewing and is a former triathlete, still dedicated to her practices of swimming, biking, hiking, and surfing.

Inspiration for the name and collection comes from Thanh’s fascination of Greek mythology, world travels, the colors and textures she finds in nature, the lifestyle of the islands: free, flowing, light-filled. The collection is being created for women with strong sense of style, uniquely themselves, smart, confident, and…very passionate. She is a woman who is elegant and versatile, feminine and strong. She knows what she wants. Beautiful within and without, influenced by people and places along her way, her tastes are reflections of her journeys and her sense of adventure. Never forgetting her roots, she finds home near the water and in nature, relaxed and playful, charming and sophisticated. This is the Daphne & Danae woman.
